The EU regulation General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a statutory law that will apply from May 2018. GDPR will replace current national data protection legislation.
Alektum Group AB processes large amounts of personal data and we always strive to meet the requirements that apply to us as a supplier when we process data, particularly personal data.
GDPR will introduce stricter requirements regarding the way companies which process personal data document their data processing, the nature of their personal data processing procedures and how securely they process and store data.
Our GDPR preparations
In order to meet the new requirements, Alektum has appointed a GDPR project group. The project will run until 30 June 2018 and will cover all affected areas within the group, both in our operating segments and in our group functions.
Consequently, we are taking stock of how we manage personal data, our contracts, and our IT systems in a number of areas. We are updating registers, procedures, and policies while simultaneously developing plans and undertaking analyses in order to ensure that the required technical and organisational measures have been taken before the new regulation takes effect. This work is being carried out simultaneously in all our markets.
Alektum’s project plan for GDPR runs until 30 June 2018 and the aim is that prioritised measures should be introduced ahead of GDPR taking effect on 25 May 2018.
